For full tour dates & ticket links check the tour page here.

Super excited to have you back on our side of the planet! What are you looking forward to most about coming to Australia & NZ?

Well, it’s been a couple of years since I was last over so really looking forward to seeing the good friends I’ve made over the years, but also I’ve had the most amazing food & wine while there in the past, so really looking forward to eating some Barramundi with a chill glass of your next Australian wine! Ah and how could I forget about the weather & your incredible beaches!!

Tell us a little bit about yourself, what got you into Drum & Bass and what were some of your first influences in the scene?

Ive been at the cutting edge of dance music since pre Jungle/Drum & Bass. I was playing Funk & Soul, Hip-Hop, Electro, before moving onto playing Detroit House & the Techno. This was the platform for getting me into the Rave scene, exciting times, I played a lot of the massive Raves like Perception, Mythology, alongside DJ’s like Carl Cox, Fabio & Grooverider amongst others.

Looking back, this is was the melting pot of pre D&B. A few of us started experimenting by speeding up hip-hop tracks & slowly but surely breakbeats became this most exciting sound of that time….. Fast forward a little & Jungle / Drum & Bass was born – I was lucky enough to be right there contributing to this sound through Djing, Production & my 1st record label, Absolute 2 Records which spawned the careers of artist like Doc Scott, Nookie & More…

If you weren’t making great tunes, running a record label & touring the world what do you think you’d be doing right now?

Music is been my life long passion & is all I’ve ever done & wanted to do so its not something I think about…

Are there any other aspirations or dreams you had when you were younger?

The usual footballer thing at 10 years old that every kid dreams of at some point….

How did you spend your new years eve? Did you make any resolutions for 2016?

We had a busy night…… I played at Moondance at The Cornet London alongside a mega lineup including Jenna G Live (midnight set) Matrix & Futurebound, Ratpack & more…..While Ben headed to play in Porto, Portugal playing in a huge underground converted wine cellar alongside Neosignal, Technimatic & Blame & more….Both parties were going off, great way to see in 2016.

The three of you have been working together for almost 20 years now! What could you put your success down to and how have you guys managed to work so strongly as a trio for so long?

We like to have fun & lots of friendly banter keeps things fresh…. Being good mates is a given & we have a great understanding of one another……… We like to graft – work ethic is something I learned a long time ago in the music business, so putting the hard work and dedication is something we all hold strong views on..

Working with the London Community Gospel Choir for your track ‘Fearless’ must have been an experience? Did you find it challenging bringing that element into it? How did it come about?

Yes this was our first opportunity to work with such a talented group of people and it was very inspiring just being in the same room as them. We’d always wondered what it would be like to get a choir on some of our tracks because we’ve been doing that gospel sound as far back as “Clap Your Hands” and they didn’t disappoint. LCGC are legendary quotecorner pharmacy in the world of gospel choirs, they’ve worked with the likes of Madonna, so we feel that was definitely a high point in the making of “Fearless”. We found the process quite fluid and natural, their own executive producers “Basel & Tony” helped us bring it all together. Our label & management worked hard to make it happen once they heard our vision for the track.

If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life what would you choose?

Chicken & Rice

Who are some other artists that are putting out music that you’re really loving at the moment?

There’s so much great music out there it’s a tough one, but check out Document One, Kronology & Gradual. You’ll find all these artists on the Technique roster, they have their very own distinctive sound and are doing damage on the dance floor….

From outside our label, Tantrum Desire, Prototypes, Metrik, Calibre, Digital, Annix, Noisia – there’s so many talented producers out there!

Have you got any advice that you could give to all the aspiring producers & DJs in Australia & NZ?

Put yourself out there & take your opportunities when they stare you in the face!

Life’s to short – if you blink- You’ll miss it!!!
