CONZ – Winni Bluez

“Drum and Bass meets The Big Lez Show”

2016 has been an exciting year for Conz with a big move into the spotlight, receiving residencies at club nights such as Attic, and a number of international support bookings – most recently the 20 Years of Playaz event featuring DJ Hype, Annix & MC Daddy Earl at Villa. A jam packed schedule of bookings at clubs around Perth, however, clearly hasn’t gotten in the way of quality studio time for Conz. “Winni Bluez” incorporates samples from Australian Youtube cartoon series, The Big Lez Show, with heavy wobbling bass lines and strong, simple, clear cut drums.

BLAYZE – Flow (Ft. Inazone)

“A little half time track”

Well… we definitely wouldn’t call this one little. And with Blayze’s extensive musical background, we wouldn’t expect anything less. This year has seen the up and coming Perth born producer go from strength to strength, in this track combining his talent with the lyrical dexterity of Inazone to create nothing but absolute quality. Its stripped back nature allows each element to really pop, mixing drum & bass sound with perfectly balanced hip hop & grime influences to create this dark and dirty piece.

KT KINGA - Emperor’s Glove

“One I’ve had in my back pocket for a little while”

KT Kinga has been DJing on the club rotation for a couple of years now but 2016 has finally really seen him show off his musical production. After having the opportunity to hear what he’s been diligently nutting out in the studio all this time, I for one am definitely impressed. This bouncy track is a lot of fun. It’s the drums in this one that really make it for me. Carefully crafted with a very modern sound that takes on subtle jungle influences, KT Kinga does a brilliant job of blending drum and bass sub-genres to create a unique sound of his own.

REXOP – Ice Cold

“This track pushed my skills as a producer and taught me so many things.”

With creatively constructed drum rhythms and deep rolling sub-bass, Rexop has the perfect ingredients for mixing together a high quality drum and bass track that grabs the attention of the Perth drum and bass community and beyond. His distinctive sound and authentic approach shows through this young DJ and producer’s dedication to the music scene and his work. The progression of his production skills has really shown this year and we can’t wait to see where it goes in the next.

JAZZMAN – More Than You Know

“Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent.”

Jazzman is another one who’s graced the decks in nightclubs around Perth for a number of years now and really came through with amazing original productions throughout the recent year. Originally hailing from KL, Jazzman has been a noteworthy contributor and friendly face around the Perth drum and bass scene for over a decade. This long time dedication and obsession with drum and bass music shows in his production, which has stepped up a notch big time this past year. With beautiful melodies, deep and rolling bass lines and euphoric synths, this Lenzman inspired track has all the ingredients to fill a dance floor audience with nothing but spine tingling joy.
